Announcing the Progress of "SEISA CLEAN UP ACTION" Project to the World!

カテゴリー:SEISA NEWS(EN)

The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are defined as "SDGs", which set forth activities for people around the world to live together and accept differences. To date, SEISA National Student Association has been involved in "Creating a KYOSEI Society", which is based on the "Creating a KYOSEI Society" that SEISA has been working on for nearly 50 years, and has been involved in activities to realize SDGs.

Ms. Higa, a former member of the National Student Council and current executive member of the National Alumni Association, SEISA Kokusai High School Okinawa, started "SEISA CLEAN UP ACTION" with a passionate wish to "continue the SDGs for the rest of my life and to communicate more about the SDGs to my friends and colleagues". Initially, it started with a personal cleanup activity at the sea in Okinawa.

SEISACLEAN UP ACTION is a "trash collection activity" to protect our community, town, country, and the earth. We have been working since this fall to clean up our own hearts and minds, starting with picking up trash around us.

This time, at SEISA Africa Asia Bridge 2020, where about 20,000 people participated online, we presented the initiative to the world as an SDG online action.

Among 40 schools across Japan, students from SEISA Kokusai High School in Nagoya, Okinawa, Naha, in addition to a student studying in Indonesia were represented at the event and reported on their activities. It was a great opportunity for everyone at SAAB to learn about different cultures, and to learn about the different ways of thinking about garbage collection in different countries.

SDGs are not a goal, but a chance to learn. In the 6th year of SAAB, some students and graduates have a strong belief that through this SAAB and the SEISA Student Association, they will make SDGs-related activities and actions their life's work! We believe that this is a great achievement.

The National Student Council and Alumni Association will continue to convey the heart of SEISA and to change society as a collective body.

Please look out for our future activities!
