Only "SEISA 10th National Parent Training Seminar" Held in Japan After 2 Years The Event Was A Great Success!

“It's important to be connected via the internet, but at the heart of it is the warmth of human connection”. The SEISA National Parent's Association is the only organization of its kind in Japan. The SEISA Parent's Association is the only parent's association in Japan with the motto "Those who can, do what they can, when they can", and aims to bring smiles to the faces of parents and to support children and schools.

The "Parent Training Exchange" is a traditional event that has been held 10 times, connecting the whole country through training and exchange, using an online meeting system that was not common at the time of its inception.

On Saturday, March 27, 2021, the 10th Study Exchange Meeting was held. Due to the sudden outbreak of the COVID-19 disaster last year, the meeting had to be cancelled, making it the first time in two years that the event was held in Sapporo. A total of 343 students from Asahikawa, Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south participated in the seminar.

This year's lecture was based on two themes, "10 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake" and "COVID-19", as requested by many participants.

Dr. Masahiro KAMI Kami, President of the Institute of Medical Governance, a non-profit organization and a doctor and Dr. Eiji KUSUMI, Doctor and Chairman of Navitus Clinic, both of whom have been supporting SEISA since the Great East Japan Earthquake.

In addition to their regular work as doctors, both of them regularly appear in many media, including TV Asahi's "Good! Morning" and "Masahiro Nakai's News Meeting". Though they were very busy time, we were able to have a valuable lectures from each doctor today.

Dr. KAMI spoke on the theme of "Two-way activities with SEISA Group, 10 years experience after the Great East Japan Earthquake". Dr. KAMI gave a powerful message of "Importance of 'Becoming Someone'", a message of support from SEISA students who lived through the disaster.

Dr. KUSUMI, who spoke on "COVID-19 and School Life", gave a lecture on the latest situation of the new coronavirus and countermeasures from an objective and professional point of view based on scientific data. There were lessons to be kept in mind for schools and all families involved with children.

After the given lectures, two SEISA student council presidents reported on the year's activities, including the SEISA Asia Africa Bridge (SAAB), the largest learning festival by SEISA, and the SDGs activities of each school. At the end of the presentation, the all today’s participants watched "Parents' Group Presents SEISA Song". The event ended won a high note. Afterwards each regions and institutions enjoyed the moments successfully for the social gatherings.

Many parents commented on how much they had learned from the meeting, and how it had given them courage. The SEISA National Parent's Association will continue to support parents, children and schools throughout Japan with smiles on their faces, while placing importance on "becoming someone".
