Yuka UENO, SEISA Kokusai Kawaguchi Graduate, Wins First All Japan Fencing Championships!

カテゴリー:SEISA NEWS(EN)

Yuka UENO, a SEISA Kokusai Kawaguchi graduate who finished 6th in both the individual and team fencing competitions at this summer's Tokyo Olympics, won her first All Japan Fencing Championships at the Roppongi Hills Arena in Tokyo on Sunday, November 6th, 2021. Due to the absence of her opponent, Rio AZUMA, it was decided that she would not be able to compete, but a special match was hurriedly organized and, despite going into extra time, she persevered to become the first ever champion.

Reina HAMAYA, a senior student at SEISA Kokusai Kawaguchi, is a keenly watched athlete competing in the Modern Pentathlon, which consists of fencing, swimming, dressage, shooting and running. She is a member of the Seisa Modern Pentathlon Club, the only one of its kind in Japan, and is scheduled to compete in the All Japan Championships to be held in November.

Both students and graduates are inspired by the efforts of SEISA’s star athletes. We would like to ask for the support of all students and graduates.
