New Speed Skating Course to be launched at SEISA Kokusai School in Obihiro in April 2021. The Japan Skating Federation (JSA) will establish a new "Speed Skating" program at the "Elite Academy", a school for young athletes who will represent Japan and the world.

 

SEISA School to Balance Sports and Study

 

Since its establishment 50 years ago, SEISA has been providing a wide range of learning opportunities for children throughout Japan and around the world, under the theme of "ensuring the right to learn".

 

In April 2021, in the spring of its 49th year, a new school will be born in Obihiro, Tokachi.　The "SEISA Kokusai High School Obihiro Speed Skating Elite Academy" will be a school for high school students aiming to become top speed skaters. The school will offer a "two birds with one stone" approach to learning, allowing students to grow as human beings and develop their academic skills for the future, while interacting with not only athletes but also their peers.

Support through sports IEP (IEP = Individualized Education Plan)

Joint practices with national teams and development teams

SEISA Kokusai Obihiro Speed Skating Elite Academy provides a flexible learning environment for high school students who devote their youth and lives to speed skating. The school also offers classes in sports medicine and nutrition, which are important for athletes. In addition, students are encouraged to interact with students in the general course to develop the human skills necessary for professional athletes.

 

SEISA will start a new program in Obihiro to provide an environment for students to learn through sports, focusing on each student's learning ability and way of life. From April, students from all over the country will gather at the SEISA Kokusai Obihiro Speed Skating Elite Academy to learn from each other as they aim to become professionals.
