Jukiya TANIKAWA (SEISA Kokusai Shonan 1st Year Student) Wins Light Flyweight Boxing Championship for the First Time in Kanagawa!

On Sunday, July 18th, 2021, at the Kanagawa Prefectural Sports Center Boxing Arena, Jukiya TANIKAWA, a first-year student, won the Kanagawa Prefectural Preliminary Round for the Boys' National Athletic Meet in the light flyweight division (47.627 - 48.988kg). He was competing against

From the very first round, the two fighters exchanged fierce blows, with neither fighter backing down and either fighter going down. In the end, he got his revenge and won the tournament with a 2-1 decision.

If he wins the Kanto block tournament on August 28th and 29th, he will participate in the National Athletic Meet to be held in Mie Prefecture.

"I'm really happy to have won the Kanto preliminary round in April and the Inter-High preliminary round in June. I will try my best to win the Kanto block and participate in the National Athletic Meet. Thank you for your continued support.”
