SEISA Dakoon Wins First Place at the Taiko Festival in Sagamihara! Becoming The First Group Ever To Compete In The Event In May And Win Twice In a Row!

カテゴリー:SEISA NEWS(EN)

On July 18th, SEISA Dakoon won the highest number of votes out of 11 competing groups at the 3rd Taiko Festival in Sagamihara in the Kanto region, following the 2nd National 7-Player Wadaiko Championship held in May 2021.

This time, SEISA Dakoon had 16 members, ranging from junior high school to high school. Challenging a piece called "Zenkai," for which we had previously won the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award, the next generation of Dakoon members gave a dynamic performance with superb bachi (bachi is a traditional Japanese musical instrument) manipulation and a mastery of gestures that was unmatched by any other group.

This was the first time that a group had ever won two competitions in their first appearance, and it was the first time that they had won both competitions. In the future, SEISA will continue to enter competitions across the country, including the East Japan Championship. We will continue to work hard to spread the name of SEISA Dakoon throughout Japan as a cultural activity. Last but not least, I would like to thank all of you for your support.

All of us at SEISA would like to express our sincere gratitude.
