SEISA National Student Council Holds 1st Network Training in 2021!

カテゴリー:SEISA NEWS(EN)

Three months have passed since the start of the 2021 school year, and new student councils have started in each school this year. Last month (June), the general assemble of the National Student Council, which unites the student councils in each school, was held, and new activities are beginning.

On Friday, July 16th, 2021, the first "Network Training" was held in which student councils from all over the country were connected online to learn about the origins of student councils and how they should be organized.

Mr. SHIOYA, Director of Student Guidance Division, who has been involved with SEISA's junior and senior high school students for nearly 40 years since the time of its predecessor, Miyazawa Gakuen, spoke about the history and significance of the Student Council.

Tsurusemi, a private tutoring school started in 1972, emphasized that everyone could enjoy attending the school and improve their academic performance. Today, all SEISA junior high schools, high schools, and universities have their origins in this school, although in different forms.

At Tsurusemi, students were encouraged to participate in club and committee activities, field trips, and sports events. This is the true form of the student council that we should be aiming for.

When the Miyazawa Gakuen High School opened in 1985, we officially started as a student council. We work to "make each and every student a hero". It also creates an organization to discover and solve issues and problems in school life. Through the activities of the Student Council, the SEISA Three Guiding Principles “Understand Each Others", “Leave Nobody Out", and "Make Friends” will be conveyed to the world. This year, SEISA Junior High School, Nagoya Junior High School, and Momiji Junior High School are also participating in the National Student Council.

We believe that a school should be more than just a well-organized structure. A school is a place where students and adults can live together, interacting, learning and nurturing each other. SEISA's student council, alumni association, and parent's association are all important means of enriching this relationship.

SEISA will be celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022. The Student Council has always been at the center of SEISA's activities. Please look forward to the future activities of the Student Council!
