SEISA Kokusai Shonan Athletics Team Finishes 3rd in Japan at Inter-High School Championships!

カテゴリー:SEISA NEWS(EN)

SEISA Kokusai Shonan track and field team competed in the Inter-High School Games in Fukui Prefecture from 28th July to 1st August 2021, marking the team's first appearance at the Inter-High School Games since its establishment in 2016.

On the final day of the event on Sunday 1st August, Robert Sato (3rd year) competed in the discus throw for the first and last time. He was able to finish in 3rd place. His goal was to finish first and to break the Kanagawa Prefecture record by throwing over 55m, but he was unable to achieve either of these goals, which is a shame as he was so close to finishing first. This result has given me the possibility to be selected as a national athlete and I would like to challenge for the top again. Please see the following comments from Mr. SATO. SEISA Kokusai Shonan continues to make history, and we look forward to your continued support.

This was my first and last Inter High School competition in my high school life. I failed to qualify in the shot put, but finished 3rd in the discus throw. I was aiming for a third place or better in the shot put and at least a win in the discus. In the shot put, I was not able to show my strength due to my lack of throwing ability. In the discus, I could not catch up in the finals and I was disappointed to finish third. However, I would like to thank everyone for their support. Thank you very much.
