SEISA National Student Council has a history of over 40 years since the days of Miyazawa Gakuen, which unites the student councils in each school and place great emphasis on vertical (history) connection and horizontal (all over Japan) connection. It holds accommodation “summer program” every year in August or September for each school’s president of student council to meet, eat, sleep, and learn together. However, because of the COVID-19, we conducted networking training just same as last year on September 30th, 2021, in which 202 students from all over Japan from Hokkaido to Okinawa were connected online as a replacement for accommodation training.

Based on the “SEISA CLEAN UP ACTION” which the SEISA’s students from all over Japan and Indonesia worked together last year, and also other cleanup activity and food loss project which SEISA’s students and alumni working together, students reaffirm the “aim” and “procedures”, and the cycle of the “result” and “measures of effectiveness”. It became very practical and fruitful time for student council members who are very eager to do something and have an idea that no one can come up with.

Students were divided into small groups and had a discussion time with the title of “Are they actually doing? Our local vitalization, SDGs”. During the discussion, students talked about various things and listened to various opinions. It was a good opportunity for students to know about the place where they live and also were able to prompt them to look at the bottom of various social problems such as turning the minds to the problem at hand than far, take a step-by-step approach than dramatic movement, and utilizing wisdom and ingenuity than just spending money.

Under the theme of Learn, cheer, and support each other throughout a lifetime”, SEISA has SEISA Alumni Association and SEISA Parent’s Association other than student council. It's important to be connected via the internet, but at the heart of it is the warmth of human connection. SEISA’s students, alumni, parents of students, and parents of alumni will create a solid foundation to pursue the ideal of a “School for Everyone”.
