On December 12th, 2021, Yuka UENO, a graduate from SEISA Kokusai High School Kawaguchi who competed in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, represented Japan at the Women's Fencing World Cup in France.

Ueno was one of the first students to win the World Cadet Championships and the Junior Championships in two categories (U17 and U20), and was expected to play an active role in the Olympic Games. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games this summer, she placed 6th, the highest ever for a Japanese woman, and is showing steady growth as she prepares for the next Games in Paris (2024).

We will continue to support the efforts of our graduates as they leave SEISA and continue to change the history of fencing in Japan. Stay tuned!
