Yuma KAGIYAMA, Senior Student - SEISA Kokusai High School Yokohama, Comes 2nd in the Individual Figure Skating Short Program at the Beijing Olympics!

Yuma KAGIYAMA, a senior student at SEISA Kokusai High School Yokohama, Japan (Oriental Bio / SEISA), was selected to represent Japan in the Figure Skating Team at the Beijing Olympics, and became the first Japanese athlete to win a bronze medal in the team competition.

On Tuesday, February 8th, 2022, Kagiyama finished in 2nd place behind Mr. Nathan Chen of the U.S.A. He will be competing in the Free Program on Thursday, February 10th, 2022. More than 2,000 people from SEISA kindergartens, nursery schools, junior high schools, high schools and university students joined the the "online school-wide audience".

Sakurako TANABE, a fellow figure skater and one of the younger students, gave a live commentary at the same time, allowing the students to learn about figure skating and watch not only KAGIYAMA, but also HANYU, UNO and other skaters from around the world.

SEISA aims to realize a KYOSEI "living together in harmony" society through the "Do, See, Support" concept, and we place importance on creating situations where students can "see" sports.

SEISA Kokusai High School was opened under the theme of "Discovering the mystery, challenging the unknown", and children are encouraged to experience the "real thing (gaining valuable experience)", which will are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities that will lead to a successful career.
